Eyjafjallajoekull – Has it increased respiratory admissions in Scotland? April 21, 2010

The Eyjafjallajoekull volcano cloud has caused havok in the UK no doubt, but has it caused any problems for patients? There are reports of organs for transplant being delayed in transit, but little information just now on how much the dust cloud has affected admission rates for those patients with chronic lung diseases.
Would anyone be interested in pooling admission data for March, April and May to determine if the cloud did have any effect on admissions? Scotland wide data on this might be interesting, and worth looking into.
If anyone is interested, let me know, or bring it up at the meetings on Thursday and Friday.
